Joseph Patrych
Joseph Patrych is a recording producer and owner of
Patrych Sound Studios in New York. The studio is well known for its
recordings of classical piano and chamber music. He has worked as
a free lance producer for many prominent record companies including
Bis, BMG, Bridge, Centaur, Music & Arts, Nonesuch and New York
Philharmonic Special Editions. Mr. Patrych received outstanding recognition
in 1994, when a CD he produced and recorded was nominated for a Grammy
(Alkan Concerto with Marc-Andre Hamelin, Piano on Music & Arts.)
Mr. Patrych was educated at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens
College in New York City where he studied music theory, history, analysis
and performance. He was Classical Music Director at WFUV-FM, the public
radio station located at Fordham University, from 1980 to 1993. At
WFUV, Mr. Patrych was the co-producer and co-host of Concert Grande,
a radio program devoted to the piano and piano music that aired for
17 years, and has been involved in many other aspects of radio production,
including teaching Broadcast Engineering. Besides his busy schedule
at Patrych Sound Studios, he also takes part in recording and engineering
workshops and recording sessions throughout the United States. In
his work as a studio designer, he has also designed and built studios
for Harvard University, The University of Missouri at Kansas City,
The Edison National Historical Site, and The International Piano Archives
at Maryland, as well as several private studios. As a musician, Mr.
Patrych has performed as a pianist, conductor and choral singer, and

Mr. Patrych prepared the masters for Vol. 1 - CRC 2532 and Vol. 2 - CRC 2770 compact disks, which were produced and released for distribution
in the United States and abroad by Centaur Records .
